Please join us on Wednesday, September 7, to hear from industry experts about How to Build and Maintain an Alliance Force.
“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” Helen Keller
The term Alliance Force maybe a unique term, but it’s meaning is the core of the hospitality industry - PARTNERSHIP! It means banding together in order to achieve something great. We learned early on in our careers that we are divided into two categories, Supplier or Planner. Great! Fantastic! But how does one begin to build a partnership and most importantly, how do we maintain it? Let’s look at one of the largest events in the state of Kentucky as an example, The Kentucky Derby Festival. “We are a community organization of 4,000 volunteers who work all year to provide quality entertainment that enhances the community,” said Festival President and CEO Matt Gibson. Produced annually since 1956, the Derby Festival® has become a whirlwind of more than 70 special events. As part of their Mission Statement “We will organize, promote and conduct events using the collective efforts and resources of volunteers, small and large businesses, non-profit organizations and governmental entities to enhance the positive international recognition, economic and cultural development, and community image of the Greater Louisville area.”
This event will be hosted and moderated by Mr. Andy Treinen, President and CEO of the Frazier History Museum. You may recognize him and his voice from his 25 year career on tv and lastly as an anchor position on WHAS-TV. From his twitter page he states: “He’s a Marketer Coach & Emmy award winner, but father & husband are his 2 most important titles.” Andy’s relaxed conversational style of interviewing lends itself to an entertaining event.
This meeting will help position yourself not only as a Supplier or Planner, but understand as a true partner working with your Alliance Force you’re working for the ultimate goal of event / meeting success.
The September meeting is a prime example of an Alliance Force. Your day will begin visiting the newly renovated Angel’s Envy and hear from Matt Gibson, President of the Kentucky Derby Festival. Afterwards you will literally cross the street to visit the fantastic Louisville Bats stadium and take in a ballgame! MPI KBC has joined together with these two forces to create an amazing experience.
This is one exciting event you won’t want to miss!
